PsiQ Labs and the Case for Purpose-Built Healthcare & Psychology Technology

A secure clinical and behavioral assessment technology platform built with role-gated access for psychology practitioners and standardized psychometric scoring.

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT

Psychology practice sits in an unusual gap in software tooling: too specialized for generic practice-management platforms, too clinically sensitive for a spreadsheet, and too dependent on standardized scoring methodology for a generic form builder to handle correctly. PsiQ Labs was built directly for that gap.

Standardized Scoring Cannot Be an Afterthought

Psychometric assessments follow specific, validated scoring methodologies — they are not free-form surveys with a percentage at the end. Software that treats them as generic forms undermines the clinical validity of the instrument itself. PsiQ Labs is built around correctly implementing standardized scoring logic as a first-class part of the platform, not a spreadsheet formula added after the fact.

Role-Gated Access Reflects How Clinical Practices Actually Work

A practitioner, an administrative staff member, and a client need meaningfully different views into the same case — and the boundaries between those views are not optional UI preferences, they’re the difference between appropriate and inappropriate access to sensitive clinical information. Role-gated access in PsiQ Labs is enforced at the data layer, not just hidden by the interface, which is the only version of “role-gated” that actually holds up under scrutiny.

Encrypted Report Delivery Is Non-Negotiable

Assessment reports contain some of the most sensitive information a person can share with a professional. Delivery has to be encrypted end to end, with access logs a practitioner can actually audit — not an email attachment sitting unencrypted in someone’s inbox indefinitely. This constraint shaped the platform’s architecture from the start rather than being added as a compliance checkbox later.

Payment Processing Without Interrupting Clinical Workflow

Integrated payment processing exists so a practitioner’s billing doesn’t live in a separate disconnected system from the clinical record — but it’s deliberately kept out of the clinical workflow itself. A practitioner scoring an assessment should never have to think about payment reconciliation in the same screen; the two are connected in the data model and separated in the experience.

PsiQ Labs is one part of a broader initiative — alongside our Formal Psychology education and research work — reflecting the same conviction: behavioral science deserves software built specifically for it, not adapted from something that wasn’t.
